A high tension transmission tower of Karachi Electric Supply Company (KESC) was blown up by some unidentified persons at Hub Choki on Friday night, disconnecting the electricity supply to four grid stations of the company. A vast adjoining area including Hub, Othal, Bela, and Vinder have come under complete darkens after the incident.

According to sources in KESC, the tower was exploded by the unidentified person at around 9:00 pm which caused the disconnection of supply to the area. Though KESC team was already on the ground to start work on the restoration of supply, it could take few days as the whole installation on the same place has been affected.

According to the initial report of the company's sources, the explosive material was fixed under the 132 KV double cables, high transmission tower. After the explosion, the supply line from Hub Choki to Baldia and Tapal to Hub has been disconnected while switching four grid stations of KESC off.
